Mother of the Tides
Original mixed-media artwork by Keshay Devine-Tucker
I created her with the presence of a goddess—a mother of the sea who is nurturing, protective, and powerful all at once. She holds the gentleness of water and the strength of the ocean, inviting you to find comfort in her presence while feeling the authority she carries.
Sculpted hair extends beyond the painted surface, bringing dimension to this 48 × 48-inch work on wood panel. Oil pastels shape her face, while spray-painted color, glitter, and stencil details build the world around her. These layers bring together my love of painting and sculpture in one original piece.
She represents a femininity that makes room for tenderness and strength: the mother, the protector, and the force of nature.
